LithFAQ.com Patch 1.2 GET IT [3YC/HH] 1.2 Patch lithfaq.com The changes from the previous version:
1) An update utility - this version comes with a small program called AutoUpdate.exe. If you are not sure you're running the latest version, double click it. It will check if you do have the latest version, and if not, download and execute the patch to get you updated. Very easy to use.
2) Better game client (regular players, just wanting to join a game) - when a AvP2 Fortress server is in the list, regular players will not crash anymore when downloading the list of game servers - the list of servers will download faster. This is thanks to our new Ping functionality
3) An improved dedicated server - fixed the {Unknown} name for the map - better update algorithm: previously, if a server would not update it's data for more than one hour, it would be considered dead, and then removed from the list. The new dedicated server fixes that, by making sure the data get's sent more often.
The dedicated server is a simple one; old Rommie servers however should run the mod, to maintain compatibility with 1.2 clients.
These are ACTUAL Rommie's mod v2.1, RommieAvP2Serv.exe and AVP2P5.REZ files. this is CLIENT / SERVER patch, you can use all files included in the client side without any problems. The only files that are required for the Client are:
The server requires all the contents to be able to run. If client has problems with running game (freeze on checking game version) - shut down game, run it again and add this to your command line: -rez AVP2P5.REZ
I mustered up some strength and finally decided to add some features/things to the site. For one I added the Server list for Aliens Vs. Predator 2. This is located on the left menu of the homepage title "Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Server List". Clicking on it will appear in a new java script fancy window. Or by alternatively clicking here
Secondly I added support for video embedding in the posts. It isn't finished just yet, so I wont give you the BBcode to use it, but here's a sample:
Finally the last update I added is the much needed "Downloads Page" link to the left side of the main homepage. Have fun.
Game publisher Sierra is shutting down 21 master servers for multiplayer games dating from 1998 through 2006.
Matchmaking services for Sierra titles including Tribes 2, the Homeworld series, and No One Lives Forever 2 will be taken offline on November 1 according to a Sierra forums post spotted by Eurogamer.
The multiplayer functions of the games will still work but server browsing will no longer be available nor additional community features like Tribes 2's clan support. Online multiplayer in games will still be playable but players will have to use direct IP connections to servers or use third-party server browsing software.
No reason was given by Sierra for taking down the servers. Local multiplayer will be unaffected in any of the 21 titles being taken offline. The list, reproduced in full, is as follows:
Alien vs Predator 2 Arcanum Caesar IV Dark Reign 2 Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom Empire Earth Empire Earth 2 Empire Earth: Age of Conquest Ground Control Ground Control 2 Homeworld Homeworld: Cataclysm No One Lives Forever 2 Red Baron Sanity Star Trek: Armada SWAT3: EE SWAT3: GOTY The Incredible Machine Tribes 2 Vampire
